Autumn/Winter 2008
Onitsuka Tiger has launched its AW08 collection in Electro Tiger Land.
Taking inspiration from Tokyo’s vibrant city lights, Onitsuka Tiger’s new collection is based on neon tones and bright colours, as well as including cooler shades to reflect the time of year. A new style has also been added to the range, complementing the fresh feel of this stunning season.
COOLIDGE
The name Coolidge is taken from the 1980s US basketball TV show and is a variation of the classic basketball shoes of the 1970s. The silhouette of this shoe is narrower and more stylish, while retaining the classic basketball style.
SAIKO RUNNER
Saiko Runner is a running sneaker inspired from the late 1970s. “Saiko” means ‘ultimate’ in Japanese and sounds like ‘psycho’ in English. Its important technical features include a fairly thick mid-sole for effective cushioning and a profiled outsole for better grip.
FABRE DC-S
The FABRE DC-S was first released in 1977. For the Fabre DC-S, we have used the outsole design of the FABRE POINT GETTER, a popular basketball shoe in Japan, and have incorporated the tiger design as a reminder of Onitsuka’s first basketball shoes.
